Daily Kos Compares the American Dream to AIDS, Avian Flu and Puppies?

Nov 16 2010 Published by under 2010 Elections

Capitalism is so despised by the Left that it’s no surprise to read Daily Kos blogger Kevin Tully’s comparison of the American Dream to deadly viruses like AIDS and the Avian flu: The “American Dream” is a worldwide viral phenomenon – with many more potentially dire consequences than AIDS or Avian Flu.  We have exported this thing from one end of the earth to the other – it’s like the gifted puppy that can never be housetrained, it grows up, still, so cute and familiar – your proud of your gift, it craps on the floor and tears down the curtains – it’s new owners overlook the crap; the dog is so cute – however, you can’t get over the crap and torn curtains when you visit. The American electorate rejected the progressive agenda on November 2 and true to form, the leftist wordsmiths went on the hunt for new targets, juxtaposing images of fear (AIDS) and hope (puppy dogs). The so-called liberals shifted their focus from mocking the dreamers to maligning the dream. A September ABC/ Yahoo poll showed that half the country no longer believes that if one works hard, he will succeed.  Daily Kos , Michael Moore and others have bit down on this bone in recent days and won’t let go: Perceptions of life in America don’t get any more basic than this,” pollster Gary Langer told The Upshot. “It is a telling indication of the economic discontent this country has been and still is suffering.” Naturally,  the progressives can’t let this ‘discontent’ and ‘suffering’  go to waste so they go in for the kill, feasting on the collective  despair. The American Dream, the same spiritual force that moved my hearty Ukrainian grandparents to pack up the kids, their clothing and travel thousands of miles with no guarantees, is an ‘anachronistic’ ideal – no more useful than puppy poop.  So much for ‘hope.’ Tully, in what sounds like a passage from the Unabomber’s Manifesto , calls the American dream a ‘flawed conspiracy theory:” The American And Worldwide Governmental and Corporate Power Structure Is Working Together In An  EconomicPoliticCynicalObfuscatorial Manner to deny Environmental And Societal Degradation To Further The Goal Of Themselves Which Are Ourselves and Thereby Put Us All In A World Of Hurt.  So there you have it. As an artist/carpenter/designer Tully’s bio states that he is “ concerned about the state of the earth .” His  illusive conspirators want to destroy ‘ civil society and the environment’ in order to ‘maintain’ the American Dream or the puppy: This past weeks election was a referendum on the puppy.  The rhetoric and the outcome were very predictable: The folks that are still very proud of the puppy were very persuasive and voted, most of us other folks – stayed home. Tully urges his readers to adopt the 60s revolutionary spirit and ‘boycott corporations, things and ideas that are inimical to a clear conscience.’ In  his call to action Tully does not define ‘things and ideas.’ Maybe life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Kevin? Progressives  desperately need to drive a stake through the very heart of our republic, the promise of a better life for all who want it. 50 years ago they tried to destroy the American entrepreneurial spirit by engineering a welfare state. Now that we’ve seen the results of that disaster, we cannot let them get their hands on our  precious puppy, the American dream.

The Election Is Over But We Must Remain Vigilant: Watch What Two-Faced Obama Does, Not What He Says

Nov 03 2010 Published by under 2010 Elections, 2012 Elections, Congress, Senate

Now that voters have sent President Obama a clear message  to change course, will he heed it? I don’t think so. Sure, we will hear a call for more bipartisanship. Obama will try to return to his 2008 campaign mantra of post-partisanship and talk about a shared responsibility with the Republicans for governing the country. But this will be two-faced Obama’s way of syndicating the risk of continued failure of his own economic policies to the new Republican majority in the House, in order to set them up as the “do nothing” Congress in the 2012 elections. With the White House and the Senate still in the hands of the Democrats for the next two years, Obama knows they still control much of the Washington agenda.  Obama and his re-elected pal Harry Reid will not permit any real conservative solutions emanating from the House, such as repeal of major portions of Obamacare, tax cuts or dramatically reduced spending,  to go any further. Yet the new Republican majority in the House will have enough power to stall any further progress in Obama’s legislative agenda, which he in turn will try to characterize as obstructionism. The New York Times has already anticipated the Republican obstructionism argument in its lead editorial today: Anticipating a big win on Tuesday, leading Republicans haven’t been talking about substance, only more obstructionism. The truth is that Republicans have been talking about substance and core principles, but they are not the kind of substance and principles that progressives such as the editors of the Times like to hear. However, there is something even more insidious than this shift-the-blame strategy to be concerned about.  The Obama administration, while playing defense to protect its existing legislative accomplishments from dismantlement, is likely to attempt expansion of its progressive agenda through executive orders and more bureaucratic regulations. For example,  knowing that the kind of comprehensive immigration reform legislation he has in mind will go nowhere, President Obama may try to issue an executive order authorizing the Department of Homeland Security to unilaterally grant legal status on a mass basis to illegal immigrants. In that way, he can secure the Latino vote for himself and his fellow Democrats in 2012. The Environmental Protection Agency will likely be used as the Obama administration’s vehicle of choice to limit carbon gas emissions across the economy, irrespective of whether Congress passes any climate legislation. The Department of Health and Human Services will be busy writing and issuing regulations to implement Obamacare in ways that will make it even more difficult to uproot this ill-conceived exercise in governmentally directed central planning of our health care system. And so on. Don’t let two-faced Obama’s post midterm election bipartisan rhetoric fool you. He is trying to set up Republicans for blame in 2012 while continuing to enact his progressive agenda by stealth. Joseph A. Klein is the author of a new book entitled Lethal Engagement: Barack Hussein Obama, the United Nations and Radical Islam.

How many poor people have progressives starved since 1917? It’s a good question and somebody should do the research and publish it. Russia was the breadbasket of Europe until progressives seized power in that year and started instituting policies to “share the wealth.” For the next 70 years until socialism collapsed, Russia was a net importer of food always on the brink of famine. In the 1930s, Stalin instigated a calculated famine in the Ukraine to rid himself of approximately 10 million political enemies. His crime was protected by the progressives at the New York Times and on the Pulitzer Prize Committee (they control both institutions to this day). Because soft progressives cover for hard-line progressives like Stalin, Castro and other political monsters — preferring to demonize George Bush and John Ashcroft instead — these atrocities continue. The left’s inability to understand the most basic economic fact — that people need an incentive to produce — has caused the unnecessary deaths of tens of millions of people — mostly poor — in the last 75 years. But thanks to a politically corrupted media and educational system, their pig-headed pursuit of socialist fantasies goes on. – Present from Progressives: Starvation – If you have a favorite Horowitz quote you want to highlight for others then click here to submit . Progressives Reduce Women to the Sum of Their Girly Parts

Aug 10 2010 Published by under 2010 Elections

From Lori Ziganto’s latest article at Human Events: So-called progressives recently gathered in Las Vegas for their annual NetRoots conference, where they celebrate diversity and individual freedom—by marching in lockstep to an ideological agenda and demonizing those who actually embrace diversity of thought and personal liberty. You know, like those evil conservatives. While most of the conference was tiresomely predictable, something stood out to me. Pro-abortion NARAL was there, naturally. But, what was conspicuous to me about their attendance were the buttons that they were giving away and the T-shirts that they were selling , emblazoned with “I heart pro-choice boys” and “I heart pro-choice girls.” Unironically. A vast supply of merchandise that encourages the disrespect of women and the killing of their unborn babies. Instead of trying to code it up with “I heart pro-choice girls,” they should have just been honest (I know, they aren’t too good at the honesty thing, intellectually or otherwise) and flat-out said, “I heart girls who will let me use them for sex and abort any resulting pregnancy—no responsibility and no respect needed” or, simply, “no muss, no fuss.” Who wants to think about a pesky, punishing baby when we want to “get some”? Instant gratification, baby. The buttons basically shout “Come on in. My body is just for your amusement.” Progressive faux-feminists, through their deluded quest for some nebulously defined form of equality through “sexual empowerment” and “reproductive rights,” have achieved nothing but harm to women. While Netroots was encouraging women to “heart” men who will knock them up, then gleefully take them to the abortion clinic, the conservative conference held concurrently, Right Online, was respecting women as human beings and extolling them for very different things. The right doesn’t reduce women to the sum of their girly parts, as the left does. I find it appalling that people who actually call themselves Progressives would attack an Hispanic American and accuse him of being an exploited minority because he chose to serve his country.
