America’s Cultural Future is in the Streets of Paris, America’s Political Future is the United Nations

Apr 19 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections

We’ve seen where we’re heading today in this country and it’s the Parisian streets, with Muslims transforming prayer into an act of political intimidation and a politically correct government refusing to enforce the law against a favored minority group. But this kind of thuggery has a political expression too and with the election of Barack Obama we’re starting to see its creep into our own political system. Look at the recent history of the United Nations and you’ll see an Islamist infiltration akin to the occupation of Paris’ streets. NewsReal Blog ‘s all-star blogger Joseph Klein has recently published Lethal Engagement: Barack Hussein Obama, the United Nations & Radical Islam , a book which tackles this issue like no other. With numerous anti-Obama books on the market right now what makes Lethal Engagement stand out? Joe is an expert on the United Nations and has covered it for years for our sister publication  FrontPage Magazine . His previous book was Global Deception: The UN’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom . In Lethal Engagement Joe looks at a disturbing triangle. He tells the story of how radical Islam came to dominate the UN and now how the UN has now come to dominate the Obama administration — insights that are now coming to be even more relevant after our misguided venture into Libya. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Joe ever since I came onboard as NRB ‘s editor almost two  years ago — he’s one of our original contributors. Since then Joe’s blossomed into one of our most important writers. He’s developed as a blogger and learned how to blend his foreign policy and economic insights with the attention-grabbing style of the blogosphere. Just as he makes complex issues accessible in his blog posts he does so with his book as well.   Lethal Engagement is an easy crash course in the Islamist incursion into the UN, the triumph of bogus multiculturalism, and especially the issue of Shariah finance. And it’s not just a compilation of ideas you’ve heard before. Joe has filled the book with original reporting from his own tough questioning of UN officials. Make a point to pick up the book today and follow Joe’s NRB posts here and his FPM articles here . The first step in preventing the Islamists’ Civilization Jihad against our nation is educating ourselves on the nature of the threat. Click the image to purchase at Amazon.

Sheriff Baca Stumps for CAIR at Radicalization Hearing

Mar 11 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections, Congress

Today’s Homeland Security hearing investigating the issue of radicalization of American Muslims was decried by the leftist media as a supreme attack on the civil rights of Muslim Americans. The most serious drama that came out of the hearing today, however, was provided by Sheriff Leroy Baca of Los Angeles County who took issue with Congressman Chip Craavack ‘s concerns regarding Baca’s unequivocal support for the Council on American-Islamic Relations ( CAIR ). Sheriff Baca exhibited marked defensiveness toward CAIR when it was suggested by Congressman Craavack that CAIR might be using him to advance a pro-terrorism agenda. The exchange between Congressman Cravaack and Sheriff Baca demonstrates a disturbing and potentially dangerous error in judgment on Baca’s part. “You are aware” that CAIR is affiliated with Hamas, Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-Minn.) said. “No I’m not aware,” Baca interrupted. “Let me bring this to your attention … I’m trying to get you to understand that they might be using you,” Cravaack said. Baca, noticeably irritated, told the congressman that he is aware of no criminal allegations have been made against CAIR. If there were any such allegations, he said, “bring them to court.” “We don’t play around with criminals in my world,” Baca said before the packed hearing.  On his way to do an interview afterward with Al Jazeera English, Baca said the hearing — called by Rep. Pete King — as a whole was productive, but he was disappointed in Cravaack’s questions. “I hate to even imagine what his motives are,” Baca said. It may shake security-minded Americans to the core to learn that Sheriff Baca of Los Angeles County, which has one of the largest Muslim populations among American cities, questioned the “motives” of a United States Congressman who had just informed him that CAIR is “affiliated with Hamas .” We can only now guess if it is incompetence or denial that prevented Baca from acknowledging openly that a  federal judge has ruled that CAIR has been involved in a conspiracy to support Hamas . CAIR has a relationship with Hamas that the United States government stated in federal court is “ an ongoing, unlawful conspiracy .” Next: Sheriff Baca Fails to Identify Terror Connections and Civilization Jihad in CAIR

No Islamophobia Epidemic Here: The Surprising Truth About Hate Crimes in America

Mar 11 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections, Congress

Rep. Peter King’s announced congressional hearings on Muslim extremism have brought on a tidal wave of condemnation of the level to which America allegedly embraces anti-Islamic bigotry, so it’s important to take a look at how American Muslims are really treated in this country. We’ve noted before how polling data indicates that the American people don’t consider most Muslims to be terrorism supporters and FBI numbers show that Muslims actually comprise a very small share of the nation’s annual hate crime victims. And yesterday, the Center for Security Policy released a new report on religiously motivated hate crimes between 2000 and 2009, which “contradicts the false assertions that hate crimes against Muslims have increased, and that the alleged cause is widespread Islamophobia in America.” CSP president Frank Gaffney says: This report is important because it exposes a false belief perpetuated by a few vocal groups that religious bias crimes against Muslims are on the upswing.  The truth is quite the opposite.  These arguments, unsubstantiated by hard factual data, are corrosive to community relationships at every level of American society, and a potential threat to national security. First, the report’s summary chart [ download here ] shows that the overwhelming majority of Americans are peaceful to members of all faiths. There were a total of 6,319 anti-religious hate crimes perpetrated against Americans of all faiths in the last decade . As despicable as every single act was, that number is well within the range we should expect in a free society of over 300 million people (consider that in 2008 alone there were 16,272 murders, 89,000 rapes, and 441,855 robberies). Neither Jews, Christians nor Muslims are suffering any kind of hate-crime epidemic. That alone should suffice to demonstrate that Muslims are hardly getting the second-class citizen treatment—even if they were disproportionately targeted, the discrimination would still be among an astoundingly small subset of the population. But as it turns out, not even that’s true. The worst year for Muslims, predictably, was 2001, the year of the September 11 attacks, which saw 546 anti-Muslim offenses (up sharply from 33 the previous year). But over the next eight years, offenses dropped almost as sharply, fluctuating between a low of 123 and a high of 193. This is pretty consistently higher than anti-Christian offenses, though not by much, and Christians were actually victimized more than Muslims in 2000 and 2008. The real story, though, is how those numbers compare to anti-Semitic offenses: [In] 2009, Jewish victims of hate crimes outnumbered Muslim victims by more than 8 to 1 (1,132 Jewish victims to 132 Muslim victims). From 2000 through 2009, for every one hate crime incident against a Muslim, there were six hate crime incidents against Jewish victims (1,580 Muslim incidents versus 9,692 Jewish incidents).  Even in 2001, total anti-Muslim incidents, offenses and victims remained approximately half of the corresponding anti-Jewish totals. The data soundly refutes the prevailing myths surrounding intolerance in America (“a Pew poll conducted in 2009 found that 58% of Americans believe there is ‘a lot of discrimination against’ Muslims, opposed to 35% who thought the same for Jews.”). And just as importantly, the report notes the sinister use to which jihadists and their allies put such misinformation. An example: Turning to the modern Islamic scholars, Louay Safi is a Muslim author and scholar who has served at the top ranks of Muslim Brotherhood affiliates in the U.S. He formerly was the Executive Director of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)’s Leadership Development Center, Executive Director and Director of Research for the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), editor of the Journal of Islamic Social Sciences, and President of the Association of Muslim Social Scientists (AMSS) (1999-2003). ISNA, IIIT, and the AMSS all appear on the Muslim Brotherhood’s own list of “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.”[50] Safi currently serves as Common Word Fellow at the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim Christian Understanding at Georgetown University. His credentials, in other words, would seem impeccable to speak to Islamic rulings on defensive warfare. The slim 2001 paperback book, “Peace and the Limits of War,” was authored by Safi and published by the IIIT in response to the post-9/11 surge in public awareness of Islam and jihad. While Safi attempts to distance himself from the classical Islamic scholars on the topic of mandatory offensive jihad, he has no such compunctions when it comes to “War in defense of Muslim individuals and property.” He writes: “When wrong is inflicted on a Muslim individual by a member, or members, of another political community….the Islamic state is obligated to make sure the individual, or his family, is compensated for his suffering, and that his rights are upheld…it suffices to say that the Islamic state should ensure that justice has been done to the wronged Muslim, even if that take a declaration of war…” If anyone has been victimized by a widespread wave of hatred and fear-mongering, it’s the American people. For all our failings, we are a well-meaning, compassionate, decent people, who have nothing against people who look, think and believe differently, and honestly want America to be a land of freedom and opportunity for everyone. That they are defamed as bigots for their efforts to expose the villains hiding behind peaceful, liberty-loving Muslims is a more despicable act of hate than anything Peter King has in mind.

Irony in Peter King’s Hearing Room and Its Media Observers

Mar 10 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections, Congress

I’m sitting in my hotel room in Brooklyn, awaiting my speech tonight which will be protested by Muslim radicals and their leftist allies, and watching CNN conduct a propaganda campaign against the Peter King hearings on the radicalization of Muslims in America. So far only Muslim leftist Keith Ellison ‘s teary testimony has been featured. This testimony, if it can be called that, was to accuse the committee of targeting the innocent and feeding ignorant prejudice against Muslims. Ellison and his political allies ask: Why is the Muslim community a focus of the Committee’s concern (and not, say, Presbyterians?) What about Timothy McVeigh? It’s interesting how every time there’s any mention of Muslims and terror, Timothy McVeigh comes up as counter-example. The Oklahoma City bombing was the demented work of a lone individual and was  16 years ago! Where are the other counter-examples? Oh yes, loon Jared Lee Loughner’s name came up on the CNN broadcast (and I believe I actually heard a CNN commentator refer to the shooting of Congressman Gifford as a “terrorist attack.”) The answer to “Why Muslims?” is that it is a religion whose prophet said Muslims should kill the Jews and other infidels, and the murderers of 9/11 acted in the name of  Islam. There are Muslim Imams, Koran in hand, who preach hatred the world over and in American mosques and on American college campuses. There have been 17,000 terrorist attacks by Muslims since 9/11 and all 13 Americans killed on American soil by a terrorist in the last year were killed by a Muslim. Numerous terror plots of Muslims designed to kill Americans on American soil in the last year have been foiled. Who knows how many are being hatched right now? Should this not be a cause of concern? CNN even had an FBI agent who was chief of the Indianapolis bureau boast that he was good friends with the head of the local chapter of ISNA , the chief Muslim Brotherhood front in America . Of course he didn’t mention the Muslim Brotherhood connection but portrayed ISNA as representing the Muslim community. The irony in all this is it’s the political left and the Brotherhood’s friends both witting and unwitting — Ellison, CAIR, and sappy CNN commentators — who insist on identifying the Muslim community with terrorists and their sponsors.

Muslim Reformers Offer Voice of Reason Regarding King Hearings

Mar 09 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections

True or False? All Muslims hate America and support terrorism. If you answered “False,”  good for you . If you answered “True,” then it’s important that you meet Dr. Zuhdi Jasser , president of American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD). He is an Arizona physician, U.S. Navy veteran, and Muslim reformer who is committed to the cause of “ separation of mosque and state .” Jasser is one of several witnesses who will give testimony before the Homeland Security Committee’s hearings on the question of radicalization within the American Muslim community.  Jasser is hailed by the Free Muslims Coalition as one who is ”taking the lead in the fight against extremism” and rightly so. Why is the White House supporting Muslim Brotherhood front groups but ignoring true peacemakers like Dr. Jasser as if they don’t exist? Americans deserve the answer to that question. It is critically important that we listen to and try to work with those voices in the Muslim community who are genuinely patriotic Americans who are trying to address the problem of political Islam . For this reason, we would like to highlight the comments by Free Muslims Coalition (FMC) in regard to the Homeland Security hearings on radicalization led by Representative Peter King : The Free Muslims Coalition does not know the intention of Representative King but we do know that the response of traditional Muslim organizations, in opposing the hearings, has done a disservice to the Muslim community. It is a well known fact that American Muslims are perceived as extreme and radical by many Americans. Even if Representative King is insincere and has bad intentions, Muslim leaders should embrace the hearings and take the lead in understanding and eliminating the cause of radicalization, to the extent that it exists among Muslims in America. When Muslims take the lead in the fight against radicalism, extremism and terrorism then it will be difficult for their critics to cast the blame on all Muslims or Islam for the actions of a few deranged lunatics. For this reason, the Free Muslims Coalition salutes Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout Muslim and Chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, for taking the lead in the fight against extremism. We can only hope that other Muslim leaders learn from Dr. Jasser’s initiatives. Next: The White House Still Doesn’t Get It

The Real Haters: Radical Islamists And Leftists

Feb 03 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections

David Horowitz and I have apparently hit a sore spot on the radical Left . They feel that we have been too hard in our recent articles on their kindred spirit, the radical Islamist Muslim Brotherhood . For example, the Daily Kos ran something called “Egypt Liveblog: Sub-Diary #30″ which attracted this introduction to my post on February 1st: From Professional Hater, David Horowitz: by Joseph Klein (hater-in-waiting) More ominously, Alex Jones’ Infowars.com published a death threat after quoting from David Horowitz’s article and mine: AllroadsLeadtoTelAviv says: “Can we hire some good unemployed sniper veterans to take these zionazi vermin out?” These comments help demonstrate how the radical Left and radical Islamists are mirror images of each other, united in their hate of Western democratic values and individual liberties. Ad hominem attacks and death threats against unbelievers are their shared tactics to silence opposition. Indeed, it’s fascinating how, in defending the Muslim Brotherhood, the radical Left employs rhetoric to incite violence, which it had blamed conservatives for using to supposedly incite the recent Tuscon shootings. The radical Left  and radical Islamists detest the notion of individual sovereignty and self-government, although their end state is different. The radical Left  believes in the collective good of the common man living in a socialist or communist Utopian state. The radical Islamists believe in the divine law of Allah governing a universal caliphate. The radical Left undoubtedly shares the radical Islamists’ hatred of the United States and Israel and the goal to destroy both. Here is an excerpt from a sermon given by the Muslim Brotherhood’s new supreme guide, Muhammad Badi, entitled, “How Islam Confronts the Oppression and Tyranny,” translated by MEMRI : According to the Islamic shari’a that Allah [has bequeathed] to mankind, the status of the Muslims, compared to that of the infidel nations that arrogantly [disdain] his shari’a , is measured in a kind of scale, in which, when one side is in a state of superiority, the other is in a state of inferiority…Resistance is the only solution against the Zio-American arrogance and tyranny, and all we need is for the Arab and Muslim peoples to stand behind it and support it…The U.S. is now experiencing the beginning of its end, and is heading towards its demise Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi , an Egyptian now living in Qatar, is widely regarded as the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.  He has strong ties with Al-Azhar University in Cairo, which President Obama described in his June 2009 speech to the Muslim world at that very university as “a beacon of Islamic learning.” Al-Qaradawi is a member of the university’s Islamic Research Council, whose other Muslim scholars considered al-Qaradawi’s membership to be an “enrichment to the Council’s activities.” Al-Qaradawi’s views give some insight into what life would be like with  the Muslim Brotherhood in charge. The New Ground Zero Mosque Imam Selection Rubs More Salt Into The Wound

Jan 19 2011 Published by under 2010 Elections

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is out as the religious face of the Park 51/Cordoba House mega mosque community center complex proposed to be built near Ground Zero. Rauf became too radioactive for the project’s developers, so he was pushed aside. Despite efforts by some apologists to defend this faux ‘moderate, the evidence of his  true stealth jihad agenda was overwhelming. Therefore, to keep moving ahead with their Ground Zero mosque project, the developers turned to Shaykh Abdallah Adhami as Rauf’s replacement. This is just like rubbing more salt into the wound. All that the new imam represents is a different mask hiding the same radical Islamist agenda. As Jamie Glazov wrote in his Front Page Magazine column , there is terror behind both Rauf’s and Adhami’s masks. Let’s start with the fact, uncovered by Pamela Geller on her Atlas Shrugs blog, that the new Ground Zero Mosque imam has a deep admiration for Siraj Wahhaj , who was named as a possible co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and advocates the replacement of the U.S. government with an Islamic Caliphate.   Adhami has called Wahhaj “Our Beloved Imam” and  the “voice of the spirit of Islam in America and its pride.” Imam Adhami’s website Sakeenah has also carried a glowing description of Siraj Wahhaj: Imam Siraj Wahhaj is the first in the Celebrating Our Elders series. He was selected not simply because of his devoted leadership to the community, but also for his role as a pioneer in the American Muslim experience. Since the 1970s, Imam Siraj has tirelessly laid the foundations for many scholars and leaders that would follow him. From activism to challenges, to the Nation of Islam to revolutions, follow Imam Siraj as he retraces the footsteps of his life. I wonder if this retracing of Siraj’s footsteps included his testifying as a character witness for convicted terror mastermind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman or telling his Muslim audience in New Jersey that If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him. . . . [T]ake my word, if 6-8 million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us. Maybe, to give the new Ground Zero Mosque imam the benefit of the doubt, he just wasn’t aware of this side of Imam Siraj, although Adhami’s website did mention favorably Siraj’s association with the Nation of Islam. And maybe it’s not fair to ascribe Siraj’s radical views to Admani through a single episode of guilt by association. I might possibly be inclined to cut Imam Adhami a break if we were talking about only this one questionable association. But unfortunately that is not the case. For example, Shaykh Abdallah Adhami showed up as a guest speaker at  the annual convention of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) back around Thanksgiving 200o. The theme of the convention was “All Palestine is Sacred!” Adhami was joined at the speakers’ rostrum by Dr. Sami Al-Arian who pled guilty in 2006 to conspiracy to contribute services to or for the benefit of the Palestine Islamic Jihad.

Sacred War, Holy War: The Secret Combination of Islam and Communism

Dec 30 2010 Published by under 2010 Elections

“…we have seen in the past – over and over again – that evil seeks out evil, that they create secret combinations and make blood oaths against the good people of the earth. They bond together in their mutual treachery, and no malevolence is too much for them to consider.” I wrote that, 8 years ago in one of my first ever articles, part of a three-piecer that Joseph Farah asked me to write for World Net Daily .  Most of my friends laughed. That was then…. The recent announcement by North Korea has confirmed more than just the obvious conclusion from the past 15 years of weapons/technology sharing.  It wasn’t the announcement so much as it was the phrasing that forever laid to rest any doubt: One month after a deadly exchange of artillery fire, the two Koreas ramped up their rhetoric, with South Korea’s president pledging unsparing retaliation if attacked again and a top North Korean official threatening a “sacred” nuclear war if provoked. Sacred war. This was a message for us, a Judeo/Christian nation, and a signal to their ally Islam, whose use of “holy war” is so overplayed we scarcely even notice anymore.  North Korea is a country of Godless communists, where religious freedom is brutally oppressed, marched out only as a showpiece for the press and foreign dignitaries.  The term is a relatively recent one, and no coincidence if you’ve been a careful observer of communism’s growing alliance with Islam. It is a stir-fried non-aggression pact for the new century, but not between three Communist countries bent on conquering and dividing European spoils. Three of the creepy faces of Islammunism This is Islammunism, and the world is its spoils.
