If you’re working on a controversial project and the heat finally gets off of you, what do you do? You shut up! Things were going so well for Imam Rauf. The country had finally stopped talking about something other than the Ground Zero mosque. Park51 was moving forward, even acting so provocatively as to apply for a $5 million federal grant meant to reconstruct lower Manhattan. This attempt to use taxpayer money to fund a project they hate didn’t even register any major outrage. And now Rauf is going on a major speaking tour. He either doesn’t get it that every time he talks about Park51 he undermines the interfaith relations he claims he wants to improve, loves attention or actually wants to cause friction. Whatever the case may be, he’s given his opponents an opportunity to make their arguments again. As I was quoted in the New York Times as saying , this will “revive the opposition.” The Christian Action Network, where I serve as National Security Advisor, is planning a nationwide screening tour of its latest documentary about the Ground Zero mosque, many of which will include guest speakers that are experts on radical Islam or are 9/11 survivors. Durban 3 – Kick This Horror Show Rerun Out Of New York

The United Nations General Assembly stayed in session until 4 in the morning to vote 104 to 22, with 33 abstaining, to hold a “Durban 3 ” World Conference Against Racism summit in New York, on September 21, 2011.  Given the rampantly anti-Western and anti-Semitic record of the first two Durban racism conferences , holding this one in New York ten days following the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks would constitute a disgraceful insult to our country. The United States voted against the Durban 3 General Assembly resolution. However, such passive opposition is insufficient. Our delegation failed to join Canada in declaring that we intend to boycott Durban 3. In fact, it’s time to kick this radical Islamic-dominated hatefest out of New York altogether. At the very least, the Obama administration should listen to a bipartisan coalition of 18 U.S. Senators, led by U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (Democrat -New York), who urged United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations Susan Rice to refrain from participating in the United Nation’s Durban III summit next September. As the Senators pointed out in their letter to Ambassador Rice, the 2009 UN Durban Review Conference Against Racism (Durban 2) had proven to be a repeat of the 2001 controversial Durban 1 summit as extreme anti-Semitic voices took over Durban II.  The United States refused to participate in Durban 2 and withdrew from participating in Durban 1. The Senators wrote to Ambassador Rice that the U.S. position on Durban 3 should be no different: It is important that the United States send a strong signal that another anti-Semitic and anti-American Durban Conference particularly held so close to the tenth anniversary and location of the worst terrorist attack in American history is unacceptable.  We can send this signal by making clear now that the United States will not participate in this gathering.  Of course, we would welcome the United States’ eventual return to the conference if it were to become a legitimate forum for combating discrimination – but that is a development that seems highly improbable to us. Iran had led the planning for the United Nations’ 2001 Durban 1 Conference, held in Durban South Africa. Durban 1, which provided a platform for pro-terrorist, and anti-Semitic rhetoric that included such speakers as Yasser Arafat and Fidel Castro, ended just three days before 9/11. Iran also headed up preparations for the equally biased follow-up Durban 2 Review Conference in 2009, which was held at the United Nations’ Geneva headquarters. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Holocaust denier, opened the conference with a vicious attack on Israel , which he called the most racist country in the world. Several delegates, mostly from the European Union, walked out during his speech. Most delegates, however, not only remained for the speech but applauded at its conclusion. Fortunately, the United States, along with Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Poland, had boycotted the whole conference, rightly sensing in advance that something like this would happen. Since Ahmadinejad makes an annual pilgrimage to New York every September for the opening of each General Assembly session, another of his vintage anti-American, anti-Semitic attacks is inevitable. Libya, which is a member of the UN Human Rights Council that is planning Durban 3, indicated during a planning session that the event would be used to draw attention yet again to the alleged escalation of Islamophobia. There will surely be more attacks on Israel as Durban 3 can be expected to reconfirm the Palestinian victimhood narrative of the earlier summit. We know how this horror show is going to turn out. As United Nations Watch put it: Based on past experience, we fear that the banner of human rights and anti-racism will be hijacked by Iranian President Ahmadinejad and other dictators to deflect attention from their crimes, and to incite anti-Western and anti-Semitic hatred. It’s time for the Obama administration to take a firm stand and tell the cast of haters behind Durban 3 to take their show to Iran or Libya where it belongs. If the General Assembly insists on holding the conference at the UN’s New York headquarters, not a dollar of American taxpayers’ money should be used to pay for it. The U.S. should subtract from its funding towards the UN budget for next year an amount in proportion to what would be our share of the UN’s expenditures on the planning and running of Durban 3. Most importantly, if Durban 3 proceeds as planned at the UN’s New York headquarters, President Obama must stay away from the United Nations next September in protest. Will Honor Killing Threats Keep Harry Potter Actress in Permanent Hiding?

This popular post was originally published Tuesday, December 21 . Afshan Azad, 22, the high-profile Harry Potter actress remains in hiding after refusing to appear in a London court. Ms. Azad had been seeing a non-Muslim man, a Hindu. Her family, specifically her father, Abul Azad, 53, and her brother Ashraf, 28, called her a “prostitute” and tried to force her into an arranged marriage with a Muslim man. Her brother also beat and her father threatened to kill her in May of this year. She escaped her family home and has been in hiding ever since. According to the Telegraph , she refused to testify against her family, saying that doing so would endanger her further. Apparently the British police tried but failed to persuade Ms. Azad to testify. Ms. Azad’s refusal to appear makes sense to me. She is already in great danger for having associated with a non-Muslim man. Add to that the public and shameful exposure of her family in this matter. Having her male relatives jailed would mean a torturous death sentence. I have published two studies about honor killing. The first appeared in 2009 in Middle East Quarterly; the second appeared there as well in 2010. In the most recent publication, I studied 230 victims who were honor-murdered on five continents over a twenty year period in 172 separate incidents. (More than one person was murdered in some of the incidents). As these studies have shown, immigrants to the West, including and especially immigrants from South Asia (Ms. Azad is of Bangladeshi descent), continue to perpetrate honor killings in the West. The level of violence towards girls and women in South Asia can be barbarous and quite unbelievable. Horrific vigilante mob violence is routinely perpetrated against innocent individuals in Pakistan. Recently, the Pakistani “Taliban” have been known to throw acid into the faces of schoolgirls, disfiguring them for life, if they were seen as improperly veiled or trying to attend grade school. In 1998, Zahida Perveen’s husband, in a fit of rage, bound her hand and foot and then, using a razor and a knife, proceeded to cut out her eyes and slice off her ears and nose. Zahida’s crime? Her husband suspected that she was having an affair with a brother-in-law. At the time, Zahida was three months pregnant. In 2004, a tribal council in Pakistan in the Punjab ordered that a young girl be publicly gang-raped then paraded naked through her village—a punishment for an alleged crime committed by her brother. This case became known worldwide when the girl not only did not kill herself but indeed pressed charges. Girls in South Asia and elsewhere are routinely killed for far less than choosing their own husbands. They are murdered if a false rumor has been spread or if they are seen even talking to a male non-relative. There are few police officers, few judges, few social workers, few lawyers who would be able or willing to protect Ms. Azad in South East Asia from her family’s permanent desire to kill her and so to “cleanse their own shame.” Honor killings take place both among rural, indigent and illiterate South Asian families—and among highly educated, literate, professional, and wealthy South Asian families too. In 2009, I received an extraordinary report which documented honor killings in Pakistan. (Although Ms. Azad’s family is from Bangladesh, the country was actually part of Pakistan until 1971, and its culture is very similar to Pakistan’s.) My Pakistani informant, of the SW Community Development Department, in Sind, Pakistan, sent me an unpublished paper in which he describes and explains Ms. Azad’s family’s culture very carefully:

Confronting The Truth About Homegrown Radical Islamic Terrorists

New York Republican Congressman Peter King, the incoming chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, is being criticized by the usual suspects on the Left for his plan to hold congressional hearings on the radicalization of some in the U.S. Muslim community. Alan Colmes , appearing on The O’Reilly Factor last night, typified the Left’s kneejerk reaction when he accused King of bigotry for singling out radical Muslims. Bill O’Reilly also played a clip in which Congressman Keith Ellison , a Muslim, joined the politically correct chorus against Congressional hearings on homegrown Islamic terrorism: Congressman King has said a number of things that are disturbing. I think that he should demonstrate that he is not on a witch-hunt to just get the Muslim community. But Congressman King refuses to ignore the obvious – the global Islamic jihadist war that is sucking in radicalized Muslim-Americans. This organized terrorist threat, fueled by radical Islamic ideology, is far greater than isolated instances of individual nutcases motivated by their own personal demons such as Timothy McVeigh or the fellow who flew a plane into an IRS building. Bill O’Reilly had it right when he said during his “Talking Points” segment last night: Individual terrorism is far different from Islamic jihad as Mr. Ellison and CAIR well know. The Muslim jihad worldwide has killed tens of thousands of people… Islamic theocracies like Iran are threatening the world. So to say that Muslim terrorism inside the USA should not be scrutinized because a few non-Muslims have engaged in terrorism is insane. In the past two years, 24 Muslim terror plots have been exposed in this country. Radical Islamic ideology binds together the vast majority of home-grown terrorists today, including the following most prominent examples: (1) Jose Padilla (the Brooklyn-born Islamic radical suspected of planning a “dirty” bomb attack), (2) Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad (the Muslim convert who shot and killed Army recruiter William Long in Little Rock, Ark.), (3) Nidal Hasan (the Virginia-born military psychiatrist who massacred thirteen soldiers at Fort Hood),

NOW Hags Target Hooters, Claiming The Restaurant Sells Sex To Kids

Hooters squares off against anti-Hooters feminazi Patty Bellasalma. When you think of a “sex establishment”, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? If you answered something along the lines of a strip club or an adult novelty store, then congratulations — you’re a normal American. Usually, an establishment needs to actually sell sex-related goods in order to be considered a sex establishment. For the National Organization for Women , that’s just far too narrow a description of a sex store. To them, all that’s needed for an establishment to be accused of selling sex is attractive female employees — and so, of course, they’re targeting Hooters. Apparently, by hiring attractive women to work in the restaurant wearing skimpy clothes, Hooters is not only selling sex, but they’re selling sex to children . Oh, the humanity! The rabid femisogynist leading this ridiculous charge is Patty Bellasalma, pictured above. (Does the difference in the two pictures explain her hostility towards Hooters?) Patty is the president of NOW’s California chapter, and she is just trying to look out for the children. They aren’t looking out for the womyn this time — nope, it’s for the kids . The National Organization for Women filed complaints against local Hooters restaurants Thursday, but not for exploiting its scantily clad waitresses by subjecting them to leering and groping customers. The subject this time was Hooters’ catering to children. The restaurants in San Francisco, San Bruno, Sacramento and Orange County are classified as “adult entertainment” establishments but also serve minors, NOW’s California chapter said in papers filed with police and prosecutors. What’s more, the organization said, Hooters provides child menus, high chairs and booster seats, and sells T-shirts in children’s sizes that identify the wearer as a “Future Hooters Girl.” Patricia Bellasalma, NOW’s California president, asserted that Hooters is violating state and local laws prohibiting sexually oriented “adult” businesses from serving minors. The chain is also violating federal employment standards, she said. Hooters’ stance on the subject is that they do not cater to children and families, but that they serve everyone who comes into the restaurant. The horror! Don’t they know that they’re selling sex to children ?! Oh, wait… they don’t. Apparently, they’re just too ignorant to understand that skimpy clothes automatically equal sex. So, of course, NOW will be campaigning to keep children away from beaches and swimming pools next, right? After all, women wear far less to the beach than any Hooters girl wears, so naturally that’s a sexual environment as well. And I guess we should also add in television, pop concerts, the mall, fashion billboards … anything else that features scantily-clad women? We can’t have children in a XXX environment, after all, and NOW’s new position is that women in skimpy clothes are obviously sex workers. Is there really any wonder why femisogynists are so scorned in today’s America?

The propaganda campaign in favor of Islam is intense, subtle, clever, elegant, vulgar, massively well-funded, and incredibly well coordinated, synchronous, just like suicide bombings often are. This “war by other means” is even more important, partly because it continues to “gentle” the West into submission by misinforming the public and partly because this kind of stealth warfare remains curiously and stubbornly below the radar of our intelligentsia and our media. Let me say, as I always do, that most Muslims are not terrorists and are, themselves, in the clutches of very corrupt and evil leaders who are either old-fashioned tyrants or comprise a new form of totalitarian jihad. Some of the bravest Muslims in the world have been murdered by Muslim tyrants and terrorists, are sitting in Muslim jails, or are living in exile. However, the majority of Muslims have either been brainwashed or simply do not wish to risk their lives or those of their families by taking a stand against Islamic imperialism, colonialism, and intolerance. They are like the Germans, Austrians, Poles, who did not wish to die in an attempt to assassinate Hitler or his henchmen; or, like many Europeans, who profited, personally, financially, from the Nazi extermination programs aimed at the mentally ill and retarded, the gypsies, the homosexuals, the “politicals,” and above all, the Jews. Acts of omission are as important as acts of commission. People collaborate with evil by refusing to resist it. Here is an example of the kind of pro-Islamic propaganda I am talking about—and I saw it only by accident. I rarely read a fashion magazine. This time, I did. In an idle and desperate moment, I picked up a glossy, glitzy magazine dedicated to expensive clothing, jewelry, and perfume, filled with ads of half-naked and incredibly slender young white girls and female celebrities and a few short pieces about Great Men of an uncertain age. Mick Jagger, 67, is on the cover. Julian Assange, of Wikileaks fame, is profiled in a piece titled “The Gift of Information.” Yes, I am talking about the current New York Times Style Magazine. And then, to my astonishment and annoyance (I was off duty, trying to find a moment of escape), I saw another profile titled “ The Gift of Reconciliation .” It is about Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf , the man behind Mosque 51 , the Ground Zero Mosque, or as Rauf would have it, the Cordoba Initiative.  The piece is written by James Carroll and the Imam is photographed by Todd Eberle.

12 Key Findings on Shariah’s Threat to America

Excerpt 1: The report’s introduction can be read here . •    The United States is under attack by foes who are openly animated by what is known in Islam as shariah (Islamic law). According to shariah, every faithful Muslim is obligated to wage jihad (whether violent or not) against those who do not adhere to this comprehensive, totalitarian, political-military code. The en- emy’s explicit goal is to establish a global Islamic state, known as the caliphate, governed by shariah. •    Shariah is based on the Quran (held by all Muslims to be the “uncreated” word of Allah as  dictated to Mohammed), hadiths (sayings of Mohammed) and agreed interpretations. It commands Muslims to carry out jihad (holy war) in- definitely until all of the Dar al-Harb (i.e., the House of War, where shariah is not enforced) is brought under the domination of Dar al-Islam (the House of Is- lam – or literally the House of Submission, where shariah is enforced). •    Shariah dictates that non-Muslims be given three choices: convert to Islam and conform to shariah; submit as second-class citizens (dhimmis); or be killed. Not all classes are given the second option. •    Both Islamic terrorism and pre-violent, “civilization jihad” (popularly referred to as “stealth jihad”) are commanded by shariah. That is not only the view of “ex- tremists” and “fringe” elements “hijacking the religion,” but of many authorities of Islam widely recognized as mainstream and drawing upon orthodox texts, in- terpretations and practices of the faith. •    The Muslim Brotherhood is the font of modern Islamic jihad. It is dedicated to the same global supremacist objectives as those (like al Qaeda and the Taliban) who share its adherence to shariah but who believe that violent jihad is more likely to more quickly produce the common goal of a global caliphate. •    The Brotherhood’s internal documents make clear that civilization jihad is sub- version waged by stealth instead of violence only until such time as Muslims are powerful enough to progress to violent jihad for the final conquest. •    Those who work to insinuate shariah into the United States intend to subvert and replace the Constitution (itself a violation of Article VI) because, according to shariah, freedom of religion, other civil liberties enshrined in the Constitu- tion, and the rule of man-made law are incompatible with Islam (which means “submission”). •    The shariah-adherent enemy prioritizes Information Warfare, manifested in American society as political warfare, psychological warfare, influence  opera- tions and subversion of our foundational institutions. Our government struc- ture fails to recognize this strategy because it is focused so exclusively on kinetic attacks. As a result, the United States remains crippled in its inability to engage this enemy effectively on his primary battlefield . •    The Brotherhood exploits the atmosphere of intimidation created by Islamic terrorists, thus inculcating in the West a perceived need for “outreach” to the “Muslim community” which, in turn, opens up opportunities to pursue a cam- paign of stealthy infiltration into American and other Western societies. The combined effect of such “civilization jihad” and jihadism of the violent kind may prove to be considerably more dangerous for this country and other Western societies than violent jihad alone. •    The Brotherhood has succeeded in penetrating our educational, legal and politi- cal systems, as well as top levels of government,  intelligence, the media, and U.S. military, virtually paralyzing our ability to respond effectively. •    Muslim Brotherhood organizations conduct outreach to the government,  law enforcement, media, religious community, and others for one reason: to subvert them in furtherance of their objective, which is implementation of Islamic Law. •    An informed and determined counter-strategy to defend the Constitution from shariah can yet succeed – provided it is undertaken in the prompt, timely and comprehensive manner recommended by Team B II.

Beware the Islamization of the West: Advancing the Criminalization of Free Speech

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff is facing criminal charges in Austria for “hate speech” following a presentation she made about Islam at a seminar.  In her talk, the Act for America member and chapter leader condemned political Islam–not Muslims– with its spreading influence across Europe.  According to Elisabeth : Islamic doctrine discriminates against women and non-Muslims. Islamic law, or shariah, cannot be reconciled with democratic principles and universal human rights. She further warns in an interview : Even Libyan leader Muammar Ghadafi says: “There are signs that Allah will grant victory to Islam in Europe without swords, without guns, without conquest. We don’t need terrorists, we don’t need homicide bombers. The 50+ million Muslims [in Europe] will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.” A head of state confirms what our politicians deny. What else has to happen until we finally get it? As Elisabeth stands trial, her defense lawyer invokes expert witnesses:  Robert Spencer, Wafa Sultan and Hans Jansen.  In this travesty of a court proceeding , Elisabeth, who is of a quiet demeanor endures the rod for all of us in the name of freedom.  She suffers interrogation by a judge who scrutinizes her every word about Islam, questioning her like she is a foremost expert on the subject. The criminalization of offending Muslims has resulted in the threat of a witch hunt against those who dare to express an opinion that is deemed offensive to Islam. Multicultural countries like Austria and Canada remain particularly vulnerable. German Chancellor Angela Merkel stirred controversy for recently pointing out the shortcomings of multiculturalism. The cases of Geert Wilders and Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff are not in isolation and will become the norm until all Westerners unite to resist and root out the advancement of dhimmitude that has already beset our democracies. In January 2009 Austrian politician and member of the Freedom Party, Susanne Winter , was convicted on charges of incitement because of so-called anti-Muslim statements she had made: “In today’s system” the Prophet Muhammad would be considered a “child molester,” apparently referring to his marriage to a six-year-old child. She also said that it is time for Islam to be “thrown back where it came from, behind the Mediterranean.” For her opinion, Winter was sentenced to a 3 month suspended prison term and a 24-thousand Euro fine. Three months before this conviction, her son Michael, a former Freedom Party Youth Leader was also convicted of the same crime.
